 Kiriho's Kizuna Effects

All effects are optional and should be agreed upon between players. You may pick and choose effects or elements within them at your own preference. Nothing listed is required of you to use. Use what would be fun for you.

Mental Effect: Seeing Things

Kiriho is a seer from a long line of people who had the ability to foresee possible outcomes of choices or events. After spending time with Kiriho, you may find yourself getting some clairvoyance skills you didn't have before.
  • Mild: For up to five hours, you have these weird premonitions of what to choose when it's decision-making time. This can apply to things as mundane as what food to eat for lunch-- you know somehow that the salmon on the menu is going to be way more satisfying than the chicken, which you somehow know will be overcooked. Or, perhaps you know which one of those cards to choose at the shopping arcade to get a prize. Maybe you can see if someone will like it if you kiss them! Maybe you know what someone needs in order to feel better-- that blanket, and a cup of tea. Perhaps it's time to hit the racetrack and place some bets!
  • Medium: For up to twelve hours, you are able to see/hear (with other player's permission) up to three impressions when you look at someone. These impressions are symbols that represent what that person is/might be to you, or possibilities of what might happen as a result of your actions as you build kizuna with that person. These impressions can be anything that is meaningful to your character, such as colors, weather, dream symbols, visual images, works of art, Chinese characters, flowers, memes, gifs, animals, songs, poems, emojis, drag race outfits, etc., feel free to be creative! The purpose of this mechanic is to spur characters towards making kizuna bonds or make things complicated. Please be sure that both players agree. 
    • You may understand these impressions or you may need time to figure them out.
    • These impressions DO NOT have to be true. It's your soul telling you something, and that can be biased info if players choose that. 
      • Example 1: Your character is modern and likes pop music and you hear that you two together might be Sexual Healing, I'll Stand By You, or Bad Romance.
      • Example 2: Your character sees that the person they look at, when in a relationship with you, might affect like a gentle rainfall, a warm sunrise, or a spark that starts a raging fire.
      • Example 3: You get this feeling in your innermost being that depending on your choices when moving in with this person, the relationship has about a 25% chance of butterflies in your stomach, a 25% chance of making you cry for days, but is around 50% likely to result in you throwing up a lot. You can't tell why, but you just know it. This is really not the truth, you see this because you are a huge commitment-phobe, and you are using it as an excuse to run for the hills after hooking up.  
  • Strong: For twenty-four hours, you are able to dream-walk. In a dream-walk, you have a lucid dream when sleeping or under the influence of psychoactive substances. You are able to go places at will. You are aware that this is not just a dream, and that you can guide your own actions. It is possible (with other player's approval) to enter another person's dream and interact with them, even bringing them to another place such as your past. You can go to a memory and walk around in it and take different actions than you did in reality. You can visit people long gone, or travel to a possible future. Want to meet your ancestors or your descendants? Go for it. You can't change the past or future events, but if you go into the dream of another character, they will remember what happened, so, be careful....
Mental Effect: Recognition Seeker
Humble though you may be, for some reason, you may find after spending time with Kiriho that you are feeling recognition has a greater importance to you than ever before.
  • Mild: For 4 hours, you may find yourself trying to give those around you some recognition for their qualities or actions. Compliments, thanks, and affirmations flow from you. You care that everyone around you feels valued and respected.

  • Medium: For 9 hours, you will desire to receive recognition for yourself as well as long to give it out. You want to seek out underappreciated people or find out new things about those you know so that you can shower them with praise. You may even find yourself doing things in order to receive praise and compliments. You will find yourself irritated, grumpy, or gloomy if you do not receive or give recognition. If you successfully give or receive, you will feel relaxed and peaceful.

  • Strong: For 15 hours, you may absolutely need someone to notice you, recognize what you do, and give you some kind of validation for your existence. You also may feel urgently driven to do the same for others. You may develop a praise kink and it makes you feel turned on to be complimented or receive praise. You might be quite vain now. You might be fishing for compliments, or doing things for the sole purpose of earning thanks or acknowledgement. If you both get and give recognition, you will feel a sense of fulfillment, accomplishment, and pride.

    If you do NOT get or give the recognition you are craving, your feelings take a dark and volatile turn. You may feel anxious or resentful. You may feel more passionate than usual and start blaming others for your mistakes. You may find yourself starting arguments, being quite dramatic, and even annoying people on purpose.
Mental Effect: Order From Chaos
Kiriho's life back home was about controlling and organizing every little detail that he could in hopes that it might help his people survive. He was entrusted with helping his queen strategize battles and the movement of their tribe, making maps, and reading the stars. His job as seer and healer requires things like arranging arrays of spiritually powerful items and keeping track of healing herbs. Failure to keep this all organized could lead to death, so it's a big deal. When you spend time building kizuna with Kiriho, you may feel this strong urge to keep track of everything in your environment.
  • Mild: For three hours, you will desire to line things up, organize them, place things in small containers, make charts, and draw maps. Strategy games such as chess, checkers, shogi, etc will have an irresistible appeal. You may experience relief and calm from drawing a map, a nice chart, or diagram explaining some aspect of your life. Arranging small objects into little rows will give you peace.

  • Medium: For eight hours, you will desire everything in your environment to be extremely planned out, neat and orderly, or recorded in writing. Things out of order, asymmetrical things, or things which are dirty will really irritate you. You will feel the urge to make sure everything you see is neatly lined up, cleaned out, labeled, charted, evenly distributed, etc. You may feel an urge to write down your organizational strategy or journal about your plans. Time to clean out your closet, trim your hair and nails, do your laundry, deep clean your home, change all the lightbulbs, organize, neaten, restock, etc. Anything which requires planning and strategy may make you feel giddy, joyful, relieve all of your stress as if you just went on a spa day.

  • Strong: For 13 hours, you will become an organizational workaholic who just has to create order from chaos. You are feeling an overwhelming, addictive urge to organize other people's things, or things in public such as on the street. You may see meaningful patterns in an array of objects. Sequence, patterns, charts, maps,and numbers make you feel that your life has meaning. If you can get into someone's home, you are cleaning out their bathroom cabinets and organizing their toiletries by type and scent.

    You may even be trying to do stuff to help manage or organize your friends' lives as a favor to them, behaving as a personal assistant or executive administrator. Your self-assigned duties include scheduling, strategy meetings, public relations, health advisor, chores, and general fussing. Are they drinking enough water? Sleeping enough? Should they put on a sweater? Do they need more fiber in their diet? You may be suddenly full of advice, life hacks, and home remedies. Giving in to your urges to make things orderly and correct will put you at ease and fill you with warm fuzzy loving feelings, toe-curling excitement, giggles, or even deep fulfillment.
Mental/Physical Effect: My Other Half
Kiriho was raised as his queen Akaposi's spiritual decoy, always in close proximity to her. The two of them shared a deep bond that gave Kiriho a sense of purpose in life. Not having that person here with him makes Kiriho feel detached and meaningless. If this kizuna affect happens for you, you may find yourself needing a deep intimate relationship (any kind: intellectual, platonic, antagonistic, physical but not sexual, nothing but sex, penpals, feel free to be creative but do it with consent of other player-- DON'T have your character wanting something the other player isn't comfortable with).
These don't have to apply to you interacting with Kiriho, they can be used to affect you when you are with anyone you care about or have a strong bond with.
  • Mild: For up to 3 days, you desire to find someone, anyone, and have a meeting of minds. You prize long talks or connecting over the network. You long to have someone else listen to you as well as listen to them. If you resist this urge, you feel jittery and uncomfortable. You find learning about them or understanding a person and experiencing intimacy and trust gives you a sort of euphoria or contact high.

  • Medium: For up to 3 days, you have an addictive urge to bare your soul and be vulnerable to a person you have a bond with. You want to tell them your secrets. You might need to do favors or acts of service for the person, such as bring them food, clean their room up, sing them a song. You can't sleep unless you know exactly where they are and what their status is. Resistance will cause stomach pain and/or dizziness.

  • Strong: For up to 3 days, you want to be alone with a special person you have CR with-- player's choice who (please get consent of other player). It might be your worst enemy, a friend, a network troll, a neighbor, etc, but you are finding your curiosity is irresistible and you feel you are bound by fate. You crave interacting and learning as much as you can from them. You can't bear to be apart, it makes you break out in hives and itch all over. You absolutely need to gaze into their eyes as much as you can, ask 42794 questions, and keep talking all night. You may have urges to bother them, prank them, wrestle, or start arguments on purpose, if it's negative CR. You may feel the urge to make all kinds of confessions or promises to them. It gets harder and harder to resist the urge to pledge yourself to their service. If you end up in their arms, you feel euphoria.
